A medical camp will be organised by the Foundation in Punjab in August 2018 to address the widespread problem of drug addiction in the state. A recent survey has put the total number of drug users in Punjab over 2 lakh people, which is a sizeable number.

Half of these drug addicts are from the villages of Punjab. Farming crisis, lack of jobs and easy availability of narcotic substances are the major reasons behind the drug problem in Punjab. The ITV Foundation will raise awareness on the issue and will be offering help and treatment to the affected people.


Punjab is known as the state with the highest incidence of cancer. The medical camp, which will be organised by ITV Foundation in Punjab, will also be dealing with Cancer and make people aware of the precautions that could prevent the same.

Excessive use of pesticides in agriculture, the concentration of uranium in water and usage of tobacco and alcohol are considered contributing factors for Cancer.
